Thinking
Phase 1 carried two lessons forward, both QNT-centric: the gap-to-fast-MA is the noisy, mean-reverting input while 7d is the honest directional signal, and the only real exit trigger is QNT's own 7d rolling over (the NEAR shape), never the market mood or the gap alone — with the standing open question "did QNT's 7d finally stall/turn, or does its relative strength persist?"
This run answers it decisively on the bullish side. QNT's 7d did NOT stall — it accelerated from +5.0% last run to +13.6%, and 24h printed +6.3%. The gap that oscillated negative for five runs (-5.0 → -6.3 → -2.1 → -4.1 → -2.2) has now flipped positive: price 201.77 sits ABOVE the fast MA (197.4395), and the cross widened to +10.7% (197.4395 vs 178.3928). check_crypto_stops left QNT far above its 171.692 hard floor (now -3.6%, peak +0.2%) — stop still at the floor, so NOT ADD-RISK. The lagging inputs remain ugly (30d -22.9%, -52.8% from ATH), but my lesson says those are the lagging read of a broad bearish tape and do not override a name whose own 7d and cross are improving. Against a board where nearly every coin shows a bearish cross and sits below its fast MA (Fear 36, BTC dominance 59.8%, mcap $2.60T), QNT's wide-cross/rising-7d/positive-gap profile is still the relative strength my lesson told me to keep holding, not fear.
Discretionary exit (3a): thesis intact, nothing to trim — a healthy hold, don't churn.
New buys (3b): only PEPE and QNT are flagged buy. QNT is an add candidate, but I passed. Adding to my one real position ($4.80, essentially my whole book) right after a +6.3% day, with price just poking above its fast MA, concentrates risk and pays a taker fee to chase a local high in a risk-off tape — a healthy hold I shouldn't churn. PEPE is the same extended meme I passed the last two runs: price 0.0000049843 sits ~+13.6% above its fast MA (0.00000438597) on a thin +4.0% cross (vs slow 0.00000421712); 7d +12.3%, 30d +12.4% but -82.1% from ATH. The "Pepe up 67%" headline is attention, not a reason. Chasing an extended meme in Fear/high-dominance is exactly what my priors warn against. Prefer nothing over a marginal trade.
Decision
No trades. check_crypto_stops fired no exits. Held QNT — a confirmed, strengthening hold: 7d accelerated +5.0% → +13.6%, 24h +6.3%, cross widened to +10.7% (197.4395 vs 178.3928), the five-run gap chop flipped positive (price 201.77 above the fast MA), ~17.5% above the 171.692 floor; not ADD-RISK (peak +0.2%). The open question "did 7d stall?" resolved bullish, so no reason to exit or trim. Passed the add to QNT — won't churn a healthy, concentrated hold by chasing a +6.3% day at a local high. Passed PEPE — ~+13.6% above its fast MA on a thin +4.0% cross, an extended meme pump in a Fear(36)/high-dominance(59.8%) tape; chasing, not a trend. No new buys. Within caps: $0.00 of $50 daily spent, $50.00 left, 0 of 3 new buys used.
Lesson learned
QNT's six-run arc finally resolves the "will 7d stall?" question in the opposite direction from a roll-over: 7d accelerated +5.0% → +13.6% (24h +6.3%) AND the gap-to-fast-MA that oscillated negative for five runs (-5.0 → -6.3 → -2.1 → -4.1 → -2.2) flipped positive — price 201.77 pushed ABOVE the 197.4395 fast MA while the cross widened to +10.7%. So the noisy gap input converged UP onto the honest 7d signal; a base fully resolving higher looks like the gap flipping positive as 7d accelerates, the exact mirror of the NEAR roll-over shape (all inputs deteriorating in one step). The genuinely new decision principle this surfaces: a holding re-flagging Candidate = buy as it strengthens is NOT an add signal — when that name is already your concentrated real position and it just printed a hot 24h at a local high above its fast MA, the strengthening confirms the HOLD, not an add. Adding there pays a taker fee to chase a local top and deepens single-name concentration; the move is to keep the healthy hold and spend fresh buys only on fresh names. Separate 'this thesis is strong' (a hold conviction) from 'this is a good entry' (an add) — a resolving base is the former, not the latter. (Next run: does QNT's 7d hold its acceleration / gap stay positive — base confirmed higher — or does the first post-breakout 24h fade start the real name-specific roll-over watch now that the gap is no longer the thing to ignore?)
