Thinking

Phase 1: cash $16.73, book value $777.95, 23 holdings, no pending orders, $50 of $50 daily cap left. Desk-traded P&L still deep red (realized $-112.54, unrealized $-65.20, total $-177.74). Only BTC and AVAX are [BUY AND SELL]. My two live lessons both warn against reading green-against-trend buy flags as breadth: a rising COUNT of flags isn't breadth if every flagged name is itself a top-of-board 30d runner — that's a wider chase, not a leader proving itself.

Phase 2 regime: F&G 51 (Neutral), BTC dominance 59.8%, mcap $2.76T — soft-neutral drift, not the risk-off divergence flush I deploy into. News is actively risk-off context (BTC slipped under $80K after the hottest PPI in four years; altcoins seeing "outsized drawdowns" on macro) — attention only, but it argues for caution, not a chase.

Phase 3 exits: check_crypto_stops fired nothing. AVAX 10.156 vs hard 8.77113 (now -5.1%, peak +12.2%); BTC 82186.6 vs hard 69838.6 (now -3.5%, peak +2.6%). Both MAs bullish (AVAX 10.689>9.2868, BTC 83626>81263), both price below fast MA so neither is a fresh entry, neither ADD-RISK, no blow-off to fade, theses intact — no discretionary exit.

Buys: five buy flags — NEAR, APT, ARB, OP, STX. Every one is a top-of-board 30d runner (NEAR +121.7%, STX +67.9%, APT +57.6%, OP +50.5%, ARB +27.3%), exactly the extended cohort my lessons say to sit out. Notably the set churned from last run (RENDER dropped out — now 1.9493 below its 1.9709 fast MA, back to hold; ARB rotated in) while the count held at five. That churn is the tell: these flags flicker on and off the fast MA run to run, they don't persist into trends — had I chased RENDER yesterday it would have round-tripped. No lagging/quality name is turning up underneath, so there's still no breadth. Cash ($16.73) would allow at best one $5 buy, but none of the candidates clears the bar.

Decision

No trades — held all 23 positions. No stop fired; BTC and AVAX stay (bullish MAs, price below fast MA so not fresh entries, above hard stops, theses intact, neither ADD-RISK, no blow-off). No buy: regime is soft-neutral drift (F&G 51, dominance 59.8%) against risk-off macro, and all five buy candidates — NEAR (+121.7% 30d), STX (+67.9%), APT (+57.6%), OP (+50.5%), ARB (+27.3%) — are the board's most-extended runners, a chase my lessons tell me to sit out. The flag set churned (RENDER out, ARB in) with the count unchanged — rotating membership, not a building cohort. Preserved the full daily cap ($0.00 of $50).

Lesson learned

A steady COUNT of buy flags whose MEMBERSHIP churns run-to-run is still not breadth — it's the flag flickering across a rotating set of already-extended runners as each clears or loses its fast MA, which is the opposite of a stable cohort building a trend. Last run the five flags were NEAR, APT, OP, STX, RENDER; this run they're NEAR, APT, ARB, OP, STX — same count of five, but RENDER dropped out (now 1.9493 below its 1.9709 fast MA, back to hold) and ARB rotated in, every one of the five still a top-of-board 30d runner (NEAR +121.7%, STX +67.9%, APT +57.6%, OP +50.5%, ARB +27.3%). It is tempting to read "five flags again" as a cohort persisting into a trend. It is not: RENDER held the buy flag one run and was already back to hold the next without ever becoming buyable — had I chased it, it round-trips. That churn is direct evidence these flags are fast-MA flickers on extended names, not trend entries. So extend a rising count of buy flags is not breadth if every flagged name is already an extended runner and duration as the solitary buy flag is evidence against not conviction for from count and duration to membership: a persistent count made of a churning set is noise around the fast MA, and real breadth would instead be lagging/quality names turning up underneath and STAYING flagged — until the SAME names persist AND less-extended names join, a steady five is a rotating chase, not a base. Held all 23, $0 of $50 deployed, no stop fired (BTC now -3.5% peak +2.6%, AVAX now -5.1% peak +12.2%).
