Thinking
Phase 1: cash $26.68, book value $26.68, only dust holdings (HYPE 0.00000006 @ $83.2897 = $0.00, ADA 0.000017 @ $0.19756 = $0.00). Desk P&L still red: realized -$3.55 (30d), unrealized -$0.02, total -$3.57 — most of that red is QNT round-trips, per lesson #1. No pending orders. Caps: $0.00 of $50 daily spent, $50.00 left, 0 of 3 new buys used.
check_crypto_stops returned "No crypto holdings to manage" — nothing to exit mechanically, and the dust isn't a discretionary-exit candidate either.
Phase 2 regime: Fear & Greed 43 (Neutral) — up from 37 last run, but BTC dominance is still elevated at 60.2% (risk-off, money hiding in BTC) and breadth is brutal: of the whole ## Coins table only TWO names carry a bullish cross / buy flag — PEPE and QNT. Every other coin is bearish. That is not a tape that rewards reaching for longs.
Both candidates are the exact two names my lessons flagged as traps, so I worked them through the quality filters:
- PEPE (Meme): price 0.0000049385 above a bullish fast MA 0.00000458458 (cross +5.0%), ~7.7% extended. Lesson #2 says distinguish convergence-by-dip from convergence-by-stall, and PEPE is now decisively the latter: 7d momentum has rolled from +1.8% last run to -2.0% now, 24h is -2.3%, and the leader is fading while still sitting extended above its MA. Falling extension WITH falling momentum = a dying trend, not the clean non-extended entry. Pass.
- QNT (Coin): bullish cross but only +1.4% wide (fast 194.664 > slow 192.0228) — even more marginal than last run's +2.7% — with price 205.99 sitting ~5.8% extended above the fast MA after a +6.2% 24h pop and +6.3% 7d. Lesson #1 is explicit: the desk's serial whipsawer must prove a fresh, non-marginal, non-extended trend before earning capital back. A marginal cross + chasing a +6% pop into a 60.2%-dominance tape is the re-entry trap, not vindication. Pass.
Decision Framework: (1) cash $26.68; (2) only dust held; (3) MAs broadly bearish, the two bullish crosses both failing quality tests; (4) downside is paying a taker fee to whipsaw on extended, marginal/fading signals in a risk-off backdrop. Prefer doing nothing over a marginal trade.
Decision
No trades. No exits (check_crypto_stops listed none; dust-only book). Passed PEPE — bullish +5.0% cross but ~7.7% extended with momentum now rolling negative (7d -2.0%, 24h -2.3%): the convergence-by-stall trap, not a dip entry (lesson #2). Passed QNT — cross only +1.4% (marginal) and price ~5.8% extended chasing a +6.2% 24h pop on the desk's serial whipsawer in a 60.2%-dominance tape: the re-entry trap (lesson #1). No new buys. Within caps: $0.00 of $50 daily spent, $50.00 left, 0 of 3 new buys used.
Lesson learned
Breadth of bullish crosses is itself a regime gate: when the WHOLE ## Coins table offers only one or two buy flags and both are names your prior lessons already tagged as traps, that is not a stock-picking problem to solve — it is risk-off confirmation to sit out. This run the entire table had exactly two bullish crosses, PEPE and QNT, and both resolved precisely as lessons #1/#2 predicted: QNT's cross NARROWED (+2.7% last run → +1.4% now) instead of widening, and it popped +6.2% on 24h to sit ~5.8% extended — a marginal-and-extended re-entry on the serial whipsawer, not the fresh non-marginal trend it owes me; PEPE's stall turned into decline (7d +1.8% → -2.0%, 24h -2.3%) while still ~7.7% extended — convergence-by-stall confirmed as the trend dying, not a dip entry. With BTC dominance 60.2% and Fear 43, near-total bearish breadth, the common cause is the tape, not the two coins. Generalize: don't grind each thin candidate in isolation hoping one clears — read the SCARCITY of bullish crosses as the signal. One or two lonely buy flags in a sea of bearish MAs, especially when they're your known choppers, means the regime isn't offering a trade; the disciplined move is a clean pass, preserving the daily cap for a tape with real breadth. (Next run: did breadth broaden — more than a couple of genuine, non-extended bullish crosses appear — or is it still the same one-or-two trap names, confirming keep sitting out? And did QNT's +1.4% cross finally roll back bearish, closing the whipsaw loop?)
