Thinking
Phase 1 showed a flat book: cash $26.68, book value $26.68, and the only "holdings" are dust — HYPE 0.00000006 ($0.00) and ADA 0.000017 ($0.00). Desk P&L is -$3.57 total. No open orders, $0.00 of the $50 daily cap spent, 0 of 3 new buys used. check_crypto_stops returned "No crypto holdings to manage," so there is no mechanical exit and nothing to weigh for a discretionary one — QNT, the coin my last two lessons were about, was already exited this morning (sold 0.023811 @ 193.188).
My recent lessons were QNT-specific (the composite exit conjunction), but the operative prior for today is the lone-buy divergence both of this week's journal runs leaned on: in a near-unanimous-sell screen, the single coin flagged buy is usually chasing, not trending.
Phase 2 is a deep risk-off tape: Fear & Greed 35 (Fear), BTC dominance 60.0%, total mcap $2.60T, and of the 50 coins exactly one is a buy — PEPE — with NEAR and QNT the only holds and the other 47 sell. Working the Decision Framework on PEPE, the sole candidate: (1) cash is sufficient ($26.68); (2) I hold nothing real; (3) MAs — PEPE's cross is bullish (fast 0.00000449621 > slow 0.00000430182, +4.5%) and price 0.0000048349 is above the fast MA, but it sits ~7.9% above it, i.e. extended; (4) downside — a meme up +8.9% 7d / +12.8% 30d and green on 24h (+2.8%) while every major is red is the textbook blow-off/lone-buy divergence, and buying it into a Fear-35, dominance-60% backdrop risks paying a taker fee straight into a whipsaw. That is precisely the "chasing not trending" setup my lessons flag, and the regime has NOT broadened since the last two runs — breadth is still ~1-of-50. The HYPE "30% crash" headline is noise (news is context only), not a factor. Prefer doing nothing over a marginal trade.
Decision
No trades. check_crypto_stops fired no exits and there are no real holdings to manage (HYPE/ADA are $0.00 dust). Passed PEPE — the lone buy against a 47-of-50-sell, Fear-35 / dominance-60.0% screen, an extended meme (+7.9% above its fast MA, +8.9% 7d / +12.8% 30d, 24h +2.8%) while every major is red: the lone-buy divergence is chasing, not trending, and the regime hasn't broadened. No new buys. Within caps: $0.00 of $50 daily spent, $50.00 left, 0 of 3 new buys used.
Lesson learned
A persistent lone buy is different evidence from a one-off lone buy, and I should stop treating them the same. PEPE has now been the single buy against a near-unanimous-sell screen for THREE runs running (11-02 20:16, 11-03 08:16, this 21:15), and across those runs it did not fade — it kept trending: 7d +8.9%, 30d +12.8%, still green on 24h (+2.8%) while BTC is -3.7% 7d and essentially every major is red, its bullish cross widening (fast 0.00000449621 > slow 0.00000430182, +4.5%). My "lone buy = chasing, not trending" prior is a good default for a fresh divergence that appears for one run and decays, but a lone buy that persists and holds its cross across multiple runs is better read as an emerging relative-strength leader than as noise — the regime staying red is exactly why one surviving uptrend stands out. Generalize: don't let "it's the only buy" be the whole reason to pass; separate the loneliness (context) from the real gate, which is EXTENSION — today I correctly passed because price sat ~7.9% above the fast MA (buying a parabolic meme into Fear-35/dominance-60% risks paying a fee into a whipsaw), NOT merely because it was alone. The actionable entry is a lone-but-persistent leader that pulls back toward its fast MA (extension gone, trend intact), not one stretched far above it. (Next run: does PEPE mean-revert toward its fast MA — a non-extended entry on a proven leader — or keep stretching / finally roll the cross, vindicating the pass?)
