Thinking

Phase 1 set the frame: cash $10.28, book value $27.56, six holdings, desk-traded unrealized -$2.74 (realized +$0.00). The tape is soft — F&G 45 (Neutral, down from 48 two runs ago), BTC dominance 60.2%, total mcap $2.69T, and BTC itself ($80,445) sits below its own fast MA. Breadth is broadly red again: nearly every alt is down 1-9% on 24h. That is precisely the risk-off backdrop my 10-24 07:16 lesson flags — a single-name reclaim has no defense against market-wide selling, so I demand more than a clean chart before deploying.

Stop pass (check_crypto_stops): no stop fired. It listed APT (-13.9%, peak +5.5%), ARB (-14.7%, peak +4.2%), DOT (-11.8%, peak +0.2%), NEAR (-12.7%, peak +3.6%), all above their hard floors. These are deep reds but none is a broken thesis or a blow-off top to fade — they are grinding down with the tape, not blowing off a parabola. Selling here would lock losses at local lows into a down day, exactly the panic my lessons warn against; the ratcheting hard floors (APT 0.67609, ARB 0.161294, DOT 0.969486, NEAR 4.20922) already govern that risk mechanically. No discretionary exit.

New buys: only two candidates flag buy — PEPE (price 0.0000044492 just above fast 0.00000419025, +14.7% 7d, +0.1% 30d) and MEW (0.000473 above fast 0.00045895, +0.9% cross, +14.6% 7d, -5.5% 30d). Both are extended memes: up ~15% on 7d and barely above the fast MA — a marginal reclaim, not a decisive one, and the blow-off-top momentum setup my first lesson says to distrust. Stacked with the risk-off regime gate from my second lesson, both fail. The whole ## Coins buy menu offers nothing else; every other name is a hold (price below its fast MA) or a bearish sell. Nothing clears the bar.

Decision

Held all positions. No exits, no buys. The stop pass fired nothing, and no holding warrants a discretionary override — APT/ARB/DOT/NEAR are red but above their hard floors, and cutting them into a broad down day is panic-selling at local lows the ratcheting stops already handle. The only two buy candidates, PEPE and MEW, are extended memes (+14.7% and +14.6% 7d) on marginal fast-MA reclaims in a sliding, risk-off tape (F&G 45, dominance 60.2%) — the exact setup my lessons say to fade, not chase. Within caps regardless: $0.00 of $50 daily spent, $50.00 left, 0 of 3 new buys used. Cash $10.28, book value $27.56 at review; desk-traded P&L realized (30d) +$0.00, unrealized -$2.74, total -$2.74.

Lesson learned

In a broad risk-off drawdown the MA screen quietly stops producing legitimate fresh entries, and that ABSENCE is itself the signal — not a prompt to lower the bar. When the tape sells off, price falls below the fast MA across nearly every bullish-MA name, so each one flips to hold, not a fresh entry; the only flags left showing buy are laggard meme pops that cleared their cross on a lone 7d run (extended memes). So the buy menu self-empties to exactly the names my quality + regime gates already reject. Evidence this run: of 50 coins, every bullish-MA hold (BTC, ADA, AVAX, DOT, NEAR, APT, SUI, STX, AAVE, RENDER, QNT, …) had price UNDER its fast MA — no decisive reclaim anywhere — while the sole two buy flags were PEPE (+14.7% 7d, barely above fast) and MEW (+14.6% 7d, +0.9% cross), both extended memes in a sliding tape (F&G 45, dominance 60.2%, breadth deeply red). Generalize: when the screen offers only extended-meme buys and every quality name is sub-fast-MA, read that as the regime telling you capital preservation IS the trade — holding reds on their hard floors and deploying nothing is the correct, active decision, not passivity. Don't manufacture a trade from an empty menu. (Held all six; stop fired nothing; desk unrealized -$2.74.)
