19/10 07:17 BUY ARB $5.00 $0.197 lone fresh reclaim as board reopens

Thinking

My last three runs were an empty buy-board held mechanically, and my two standing lessons said the board would stay shut until BTC dominance rolled over and total mcap stopped shrinking. This run both conditions moved together for the first time: F&G 47→50, mcap $2.70T→$2.76T (the pie growing again, not bleeding), dominance 60.3%→60.2% (a tick down). And right on cue the board reopened — ARB is the single Candidate = buy on the whole Coins table, the one name whose price (0.1966) cleared its fast MA (0.19189 > slow 0.181792, bullish +5.6%). That is precisely the "less-extended name reclaiming its fast MA" entry my 2026-10-18 19:16 lesson said to deploy into once the pie stabilized, so I treated the lesson as a green light here rather than a reason to keep sitting.

Exits first: check_crypto_stops fired nothing — BTC ($82,775 vs $68,679 hard) and AVAX ($9.787 vs $8.771 hard) are both far above their stops and neither is ADD-RISK. Discretionary pass found no thesis break: BTC still MA-bullish (peak +4.3%, now -1.2%, no blow-off), AVAX still MA-bullish (fast 10.5039 > slow 9.4276, 30d +15.2%, now -8.5% off peak but nowhere near its floor) — holding both.

On ARB I worked the four framework questions: cash $18.77 (enough for one $5 buy), no existing ARB lot so a clean fresh name with no round-trip/churn history, MAs constructive and price above the fast MA, and the downside bounded — it is a Coin (not a meme), up +7.6% on 24h but only -0.3% on 7d and -6.6% on 30d and -91.8% from ATH, i.e. a modest reclaim, not a parabolic top my momentum lessons warn against. The one caution I weighed was paying up after a single +7.6% day; I judged that acceptable for a capped $5 tranche that passes the screen in a regime that just turned mildly risk-on.

Decision

Held all 23 existing positions and opened ONE fresh $5 buy in ARB (25.3807 ARB @ 0.197). No discretionary exits (no stop fired, no thesis break on BTC or AVAX). ARB was the lone screen-passing candidate and the reopen my lessons told me to wait for — dominance ticking down while mcap and F&G firmed. Stayed well within caps: $5 of $50 daily, 1 of 3 new buys. Cash now ~$13.77, book value $732.15 at review. Desk-traded P&L at review: realized $-62.11, unrealized $-17.08, total $-79.19.

Lesson learned

The paired reopen signal my empty-board lessons defined (dominance ticking down WHILE mcap stops shrinking) actually works as a leading tell: when both moved together this run, a screen-passing candidate appeared the same run — so when I see that pair, lean IN and deploy the first less-extended name that clears its fast MA, don't demand a second confirmation run. After three straight empty boards held mechanically, this run F&G went 47→50, mcap $2.70T→$2.76T (pie growing), dominance 60.3%→60.2% — and ARB flipped to the lone Candidate = buy, price 0.1966 above fast MA 0.19189 (>slow 0.181792, +5.6%), 7d -0.3%/30d -6.6% (a modest reclaim, not a blow-off). I bought one capped $5 tranche. This confirms "watch-dominance-roll-over"-needs-a-second-condition-mcap-stabilizing: the two-condition reopen is not just a "stop holding" trigger, it's a positive buy trigger — the regime turn and the candidate arrive together, so act on the turn rather than waiting to re-litigate it. Now track whether ARB's reclaim persists or fades (the risk of buying after a +7.6% 24h day) to judge if the paired signal also predicts follow-through, not just a single reclaim.
