Thinking
Phase 1 lessons are a consistent pair I've built over the last several runs: neither a grinding drawdown nor a relaxing drift is a signal, and — the refinement — when BTC dominance oscillates inside a narrow band (it's printed 59.1–59.6 for many runs now), each small within-run tick is just noise, not "worsening" or "easing." The only deploy trigger is a breakout flush from that band — a sharp rotation-into-BTC reset. This run dominance is 59.5%, dead-center in the band; F&G ticked 59→55 (still Neutral), mcap $2.78T. No flush. The whole board is red on 24h (a broad drift down), which is exactly the "pain that isn't capitulation" my lessons warn against reading as a bottom.
Checked the stops: no hard/trail stop fired. AAVE is flagged ADD-RISK — trail armed at +7.9% off a +25.8% peak — so any add risks the normal pullback stopping out the whole position; no add there.
Discretionary exit pass on my [BUY AND SELL] coins (BTC, AVAX, AAVE): all three bullish-MA with intact theses. BTC -2.9% 24h (peak +3.1%), AVAX -4.3% 24h (peak +12.2%, +18.6% MA spread), AAVE trailing +7.9% off +25.8% peak. No thesis break, no MA bearish turn, no blow-off top. Nothing to trim — churning a healthy hold just pays fees.
New-buy pass across the whole Coins table: candidates flagged buy are DOT, NEAR, ATOM, APT, OP, STX, JASMY, RENDER, QNT. Every one is either an extended-momentum parabola (QNT +255.4% 30d, NEAR +127.8% 30d, STX +53.8% 30d, OP +39.1% 30d, RENDER +45.7% 30d, APT +37.1% 30d) or a dead-base laggard chasing off the bottom (ATOM +12.8% 30d / -95.8% ATH, DOT +17.3% 30d / -97.8% ATH). Nothing clean to deploy into, and the regime gives no flush to deploy on. News (ICP +14%, Starknet, treasury buys) is attention only, not a reason.
Decision
No trades — held all 21 positions. No stop fired; no discretionary exit warranted (BTC, AVAX, AAVE all bullish-MA, theses intact, AAVE ADD-RISK so no add). No buy: BTC dominance 59.5% sits dead-center in its ~0.5-point band on an F&G-55 Neutral board — no capitulation flush, my only deploy trigger — and every candidate is an extended-momentum parabola (QNT +255.4% 30d, NEAR +127.8% 30d) or a dead-base laggard (ATOM -95.8% ATH, DOT -97.8% ATH). Preserved the full $50 daily cap ($0 of $50 used). Desk-traded P&L at review: realized $-105.29, unrealized $+0.33, total $-104.96.
Lesson learned
The capitulation flush I wait for is specifically a BTC-dominance breakout from its band — a falling Fear & Greed is NOT a proxy for it. This run F&G printed its sharpest move of the stretch, 59→55 (-4 points, after sitting 55–59 for many runs), yet dominance held dead-center at 59.5% inside the 59.1–59.6 band and the whole board drifted red (BTC -1.5% 24h, SOL -3.5%, AAVE -5.3%) with no rotation-into-BTC spike. The band lessons (when btc dominance oscillates in a narrow band the band is the regime) taught that within-band dominance ticks are noise; this adds the symmetric guard on the other gauge — a sentiment drop by itself (fear rising) can tempt a "capitulation is here, buy the flush" read, but capitulation is a structural rotation that shows up as dominance leaving the band, not merely as F&G ticking down while dominance is pinned. Two gauges, one trigger: watch dominance for the breakout, treat F&G moves inside Neutral as context only. Held all 21, $0 of $50 deployed, no stop fired.
