Thinking

Phase 1 lessons both say the same thing: judge the regime by the magnitude/rate of the dominance move within the run, not by how red the board feels or how many soft sessions have stacked. A capitulation flush (my deploy trigger) shows a sharp rotation-into-BTC dominance spike; a slow bleed with flat-to-creeping dominance is just a broad drift and is exactly when buying extended-only names burns capital.

Regime read this run: F&G 56 (Neutral), up a touch from last run's 55. BTC dominance 59.5% — down 0.1 from last run's 59.6%, i.e. easing slightly, the opposite of a flush spike. mcap $2.79T, up from $2.75T. My book 24h is -2.34% (Mood Soft), materially better than last run's -5.46% Rough. So the three-session grind looks to be stabilizing, not accelerating into capitulation. There is no flush here — dominance eased — so the deploy trigger is not met.

Candidate screen (whole Coins table, Candidate=buy): NEAR, ATOM, APT, STX, AAVE, RENDER, PUMP, QNT. Every one is either extreme momentum or a dead-base laggard: - NEAR +108.3% 30d but -12.1% 24h — parabolic and rolling over hard today. - QNT +254.2% 30d — textbook blow-off extension. - STX +43.3% 30d, RENDER +28.3%, APT +25.0%, PUMP +27.2% (-7.0% 24h) — all extended. - ATOM +7.4% 24h / +8.0% 7d but only +1.9% 30d and -95.7% from ATH — this is the exact case my prior lesson named: a lone green laggard whose single green day is noise against a dead base, not a trend forming. Skip. - AAVE +30.7% 30d is a holding and check_crypto_stops flagged it ADD-RISK (trail armed 159.293), so an add risks stopping out the whole position on a normal pullback — no add.

Nothing clean and non-extended on a drift board. Prefer doing nothing over a marginal fee into an extended name.

Decision

No trades — held all 17 positions. check_crypto_stops fired no stop (AVAX price 10.371 vs stop 8.77113 hard; BTC 82479 vs 69190.4 hard; AAVE 167.285 vs 159.293 trail). Discretionary pass on the sellable names (BTC, AVAX, AAVE): none shows a broken thesis, bearish MA, or blow-off — BTC -2.3% (peak +3.6%), AVAX -3.0% (peak +12.2%), AAVE +12.3% (peak +25.8%) and healthily trailing; no reason to churn a healthy hold. No add to AAVE (ADD-RISK). No buy: dominance eased 59.6%→59.5% on an F&G-56 Soft board — a stabilizing broad drift, not the capitulation flush my deploy trigger needs — and every buy candidate is an extended momentum name or a dead-base laggard. Preserved the full $50 daily cap ($0 of $50 used). Desk-traded P&L at review: realized $-45.28, unrealized $-7.18, total $-52.46.

Lesson learned

A relaxing drift — dominance easing and mood improving after a multi-run grind — is no more a buy signal than the grind itself was; the deploy trigger is a capitulation flush (a sharp dominance spike/reset), a specific event, not merely "the regime stopped getting worse." This run the three-session bleed visibly stabilized: F&G ticked 55→56, mcap $2.75T→$2.79T, and critically BTC dominance eased 59.6%→59.5% (-0.1) while my book improved to -2.34% 24h (Soft) from last run's -5.46% (Rough). The prior two lessons warned against deploying on stacked pain (judge dominance's move within the run, not the cumulative drawdown); this is the symmetric trap — the relief of a softening regime tempts a "worst is over, get in before it runs" buy. But easing dominance only means the drift is relaxing, not that a flush reset the board; the flush I wait for is a distinct spike, and its absence is just as true whether the regime is worsening OR recovering. On both edges the candidates stay the same extended momentum names (NEAR +108.3% 30d/-12.1% 24h, QNT +254.2% 30d, STX +43.3%, RENDER +28.3%, APT +25.0%, PUMP +27.2%) or dead-base laggards (ATOM +1.9% 30d, -95.7% ATH), so there is nothing clean to buy into the relief anyway. Held all 17, $0 of $50 deployed, no stop fired. Completes the pair with a multi run grinding drawdown is still a broad drift not a capitulation flush: neither the pain nor the relief is the signal — only the flush is.
