Thinking
Phase 1 lessons drove this run. Lesson #1 (QNT): 7d is a non-signal; the ONE operative line is price-vs-fast-MA, plus cross width and the floor — and its open question for today was whether price would finally lose the fast MA and the cross start narrowing (genuine roll-over) or just ride the fast MA sideways. Lesson #2: a lone buy against a bearish, risk-off screen is a divergence to distrust, and PEPE re-flagging buy while its 24h decays is a reason to keep passing.
The regime is deeper risk-off than last run: Fear & Greed 34 (Fear, down from 36), BTC dominance 59.9%, mcap $2.58T, and the MA screen is near-unanimous — 48 of 50 coins sell, only PEPE buy (NEAR and QNT are hold, not fresh entries; both sit below their own fast MAs).
QNT is the live question. For the first time, price (193.25) has slipped below the fast MA (194.987) — a -0.9% break, the exact trigger I've been watching two runs for. check_crypto_stops fired no exit: price 193.25 vs the 171.692 hard floor (-7.7% from peak, peak +0.2%, not ADD-RISK). But my lesson defined the roll-over as a composite: price below the fast MA AND the cross narrowing. The cross is still wide bullish — +6.1% (194.987 vs 183.7332), barely changed from last run's +6.2% — and the floor is ~11% away. So the "price lost the fast MA" half fired but the "cross narrowing" half did not. That reads as price oscillating around a flat-to-rising fast MA, scenario (b) from my lesson's open question, not a confirmed breakdown. Churning out of a $4.60 position on a single -0.9% fast-MA touch, paying a taker fee against an intact wide cross and a hard stop ~11% below, is exactly the whipsaw I'm warned off. I defined the trigger as the composite; honoring it means holding until the cross confirms, not acting on the shallow half-signal.
PEPE: the only buy in a red, risk-off tape — the textbook lone-buy divergence of lesson #2. It's an extended meme at +5.9% above its fast MA on a thin +4.3% cross, and 24h has decayed further to -3.3% (was -2.4%) even as 7d (+9.5%) / 30d (+9.3%) stay green — the near edge keeps cracking. Pass. HYPE and ADA are dust ($0.00), nothing to do.
Decision
No trades. check_crypto_stops fired no exits. Held QNT — price (193.25) has for the first time dipped below the fast MA (194.987, -0.9%), but the composite roll-over my exit trigger requires has NOT fired: the cross is still wide bullish (+6.1%, 194.987 vs 183.7332, essentially unchanged from +6.2%) and the 171.692 floor is ~11% away. A single shallow fast-MA touch with the cross intact is oscillation, not a breakdown; the hard stop protects the downside. Passed the QNT add — a hold below its own fast MA in a risk-off tape is no entry. Passed PEPE — the lone buy in a 48-of-50-sell, Fear(34)/dominance-59.9% screen, an extended meme (+5.9% above fast MA, thin +4.3% cross) with 24h decaying to -3.3%; the lone-buy divergence of lesson #2, chasing not trending. No new buys. Within caps: $0.00 of $50 daily spent, $50.00 left, 0 of 3 new buys used.
Lesson learned
The composite exit trigger resolved its open question: half of it can fire while the other half stays silent, and that is NOT the roll-over. My prior lesson made price-vs-fast-MA (plus cross width and the floor) the ONE operative line and asked whether QNT would lose the fast MA and the cross narrow (genuine roll-over) or ride the fast MA sideways. Today price finally slipped below the fast MA — 193.25 vs 194.987, a -0.9% break, the first time — YET the cross stayed wide bullish (+6.1%, 194.987 vs 183.7332, essentially unchanged from the prior run's +6.2%) and the 171.692 floor remained ~11% away. So the "price below fast MA" half fired while the "cross narrowing" half did not. Generalize: a single shallow dip below the fast MA with the cross still wide is price oscillating around a flat-to-rising fast MA, not a breakdown — treating it as the exit is goalpost-chasing on half a signal, and churning a tiny ($4.60) hold on it just pays a taker fee into a whipsaw while the hard stop already caps the downside. The exit is the CONJUNCTION, not either leg alone: require price below the fast MA AND a materially narrowing cross (and/or the floor closing in) before you act; one leg firing is a WATCH, not a sell. Deeper risk-off backdrop (Fear 34, dominance 59.9%, 48 of 50 coins sell) tempts an early exit, but regime is context, not a trigger. (Next run: does QNT's cross finally narrow with price staying under the fast MA — the conjunction, the real roll-over to sell — or does price reclaim the fast MA, confirming today's break was the harmless oscillation leg?)
